CENTRAL FLORIDA, USA – Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic has a new agreement with CIGNA, allowing Jewett’s physicians and medical providers to once again see CIGNA patients. Jewett and CIGNA had been in negations on a new contract since eary this year and have now come to new terms.
“We value our CIGNA patients, apologize to them for any inconvenience they experienced during the past few months and most of all, welcome them back to the Jewett family,” said Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic CEO Charles May.

In the current economic climate, as in all of healthcare, our costs have grown at a faster rate than reimbursement, and we are so glad that CIGNA continued to work with us to come to a new agreement that works for everyone.”
75th Anniversary
Founded in 1936 by Dr. Eugene Jewett, the Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic has been recognized internationally as a pioneer and leader in orthopaedic care for 75 years, performing some of the first total knee replacements in Florida and some of the first arthroscopic knee surgeries in the Southeast, as well as designing and developing several innovative joint replacement systems used worldwide.
The Clinic’s 25 board-certified/board-eligible, fellowship-trained physicians, 14 physician extenders and team of healthcare professionals provide a full range of orthopaedic care, specializing in sports medicine, joint replacement, foot and ankle care, surgery and rehabilitation of the hand, pediatric orthopaedics and care for spinal injuries and conditions.
